POLLINI CELEBRATES THE BRAND'S 70TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A SERIES OF IMAGES TAKEN FROM ITS HISTORICAL ARCHIVE
Cut-out animations, collages, video inserts and photos retrace the pillars of the brand’s successful history.
The Cavaliere boot, an iconic and innovative reinterpretation of the "riding boot" used in the equestrian world, - which has always been a great source of inspiration for the brand's creations, - is the absolute protagonist.
The video actually witnesses the evolution of the Cavaliere boot in parallel with the succession of historical events, as well as the milestones in fashion, cinema, music, and technology.
Highlighting its combination of style and quality, tradition and innovation, Pollini showcases through images and videos its tight link with the history of its homeland, Italy.
Pollini is a shoes and accessories brand rooted in Made in Italy tradition, craftsmanship, and excellence.
Founded in 1953 by Vittorio Pollini in the San Mauro Pascoli shoe district, the brand kicked off its business launching strappy sandals inspired by the Riviera Romagnola’s holiday vibe.
During the Italian economic miracle and the golden years of “La Dolce Vita”, Pollini became a popular brand offering shoe collections combining style and functional versatility, a winning match still defining the label. In 1956, Pollini inaugurated in San Mauro Pascoli its first factory, where, thanks to the implementation of artisanal techniques applied on an industrial scale, the company quickly became a point of reference within the region and started manufacturing shoes for other brands.
At the same time, Pollini continued developing its collections, launching a variety of iconic styles, still at the core of its collections. These include the legendary "Cavaliere" boot, - worn by Maria Schneider in Bernardo Bertolucci’s movie "Last Tango in Paris,"- as well as the "Daytona" shoe, showing the signature monoblock sole, and a college-style loafer. The metallic horsebit, the galvanized gold buckle and the “cremino” two-tone, three-layer sole were also introduced as signature details.
During the 1980s the company started its international expansion and in 1989 Pollini moved its headquarters to the Gatteo plant, that also houses the brand’s commercial and administrative departments. In 2001, Aeffe -- parent company of Moschino, Alberta Ferretti and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini -- acquired a controlling stake of Pollini, that started developing the accessories ranges, including handbags, shoes and leather goods, for the brands under the group’s umbrella.
Pollini currently boasts a thriving international business. The brand controls four flagship stores in strategic locations including Milan and Venice, while a number of shops are operated by longtime business partners.
The brand, which is registering a significant growth of its bag business, develops three different lines: Pollini Archive, the premium range that celebrates Pollini's most authentic DNA through contemporary re-editions of iconic styles; Pollini, the main line reflecting seasonal trends; as well as Pollini Heritage, that carries a selection of accessories showing the signature allover logo print.
To mark the brand's 70th anniversary, Pollini revamps its distinctive logo with the iconic "P" surrounded by a laurel wreath, which for the occasion will be enriched with the "70 years" writing. To celebrate this prestigious milestone, Pollini will develop several activities throughout 2023, including capsule launches and special, dedicated projects.

Pollini has become synonymous with high-quality and Italian craftmanship thanks to the know-how and expertise of its artisans.
To ensure high-quality standards, Pollini employs highly skilled artisans who execute by hand several of the different steps, - up to 135, - required to craft a Pollini shoe.
Along the production chain, artisans’ skilled hands are protagonists, with the support of the factory’s highly specialized machineries. As the final step, each shoe is individually inspected to meet strict quality standards before being boxed and shipped for sale.
In addition to quality, Pollini shoes stand out from the crowd thanks to their innovative design and combination of unusual materials, a brand’s signature feature since its foundation.
